“Busco trabajo urgente” is an audible piece realised to the distance from the cities of Barcelona and Rotterdam by the artists Rosa Apablaza (Chile) and Federico Duret (Argentina), based on the mix of sound recordings, loops and sounds created.
The sounds that have been used for the composition are voices of immigrants who live in the city of Madrid, looking for work and offering their services in the Web Site www.loquo.com, also sounds recorded at a Pakistani restaurant of the Raval district in Barcelona, sounds made with virtual instruments in MIDI format, and audio predesigned.
The records of voices of the immigrants have been part of the project “Estación Pirata”, realised by Rosa Apablaza within the framework of the international seminary-workshop “Avlab 1.0” of Medialab Prado, in October 2008. |
